The Dean's Award for academic excellence is awarded to students with a 3.30 or higher term average.

On Sat. Feb. 20 the Music Program at Eastern Connecticut State University presented the first concert held in Eastern's new state-of-the art Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC). The historical concert, comprised of Eastern students, faculty, staff and local community members, was one of the first to combine nearly every vocal and instrumental ensemble, making it a truly collaborative performance.

Select students have been named to the Fall 2015 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Miami University awarded 932 degrees to students during fall commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, in Millett Hall. Miami University is a public university located in southwestern Ohio, offering more than 100 degree programs in humanities, science, engineering, business, education and fine arts. Students with more than one listing have earned additional degrees or honors.

Husson University is pleased to announce the Fall 2015 President's List. Students who earn President's List honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of between 3.80 to 4.0 during the period.

Home-grown terrorism, the effects of a consumerist culture, and the alienation and objectification of individuals were only a few of the themes portrayed in Eastern Connecticut State University's production of the award-winning contemporary play, "Pornography" by Simon Stephens. The Performing Arts Department and Drama Society recently performed the play in Eastern's Harry Hope Theatre.

Eastern Connecticut State University's Eastern Chamber Singers recently performed with celebrity singer/songwriter Josh Groban at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford.

The cross-country team at Eastern Connecticut State University volunteered at the Hartford Marathon on Oct. 10, assisting athletes with disabilities through the races. Nine members of the team served as guide runners for blind athletes or those in wheelchairs; 12 members served as course marshals in the 5K, the race in which the majority of athletes with disabilities participated.

Eastern Connecticut State University's Rachel Skelton was named Little East Conference Goalkeeper-of-the-Week for the first time this year in women's soccer.

This individual was recently named to the Castleton football team.

Eastern Connecticut State University has selected this year's academic scholars for the university's Honors Program. Students are selected based on their talent and ability to demonstrate academic success.

Twenty Nichols College Students were recognized as Orientation Leaders during the Summer of 2015 for the incoming class of 2019. These students introduced new freshmen students to Nichols College and the community by leading them through team activities and helping them acclimate to the college lifestyle.
